How to get here: Victoria is 1 mile from the tiny village of Ferrensac which lies midway between Bergerac on the river Dordogne and Villeneuve on the river Lot, just inside the department of Lot et Garonne.
From Bergerac take the N 21 (Sign posted Agen) to Castillonnes (27 km); from Castillonnes take the D2 (SP Villereal); after about 3 km turn right on D257 (SP Ferrensac and Montaut). Pass through the hamlet of Ferrensac; after the church on your right, go straight ahead at fork by the crucifix (SP Montaut) and continue for about 1 km. On the rise of a hill you find a group of houses on the right; Rieulet is the last of these, with blue shutters and a small pond, lying on a sharp right bend. The main entrance is on the far side of the house.
Victoria can also be reached very easily by air with Bergerac airport only 20 minutes away by car. Bergerac is served by an extensive network of low cost flights from UK by Ryan Air (ryanair.com) and Flybe (flybe.com) with several flights daily from different parts of UK.
It is also well served by trains from other European countries and in particular, from Paris by high speed rail (TGV) to Bordeaux and then a simple cross platform change to Bergerac station (25 mins away by car) or Marmande station (40 minutes away) the latter having more daily connections. Car hire is easy with all the major firms having offices at Bergerac airport and close to the two railway stations.
For lower cost car hire try “Buggs Car Hire” (www.buggscarhire.com) who will collect you from the airport or railway station.
